CATALOGUE CRITIQUE DE LA BIBLIOTEQUE DE PRET QU’ELLE A COMPOSE..

£175.50

Paris: La Maison des Livres, 1932

21.5 x 18cm. 248pp. Original wrappers. First edition of this meticulous work of librarianship by the pioneering author, publisher and founder of the famous bookshop ‘La Maison des Livres’. Established just across the street from Sylvia Beach’s Shakespeare & Company, Monnier established a long-lived business and personal relationship with Beach including the historic publication of Joyce’s ‘Ulysses’ (Monnier being responsible for the first French edition).

Minor wear to wrappers and to the bottom right of the first few bevelled pages, some browning to the cheap paper and a former owner’s ex libris still in place on inside front cover, else a very good example of this uncommon catalogue.
