Paris: Instance, 1951
19 x 14cm, 16pp. Five b/w reproductions after works by the artist. Original wrappers. First edition. A scarce catalogue of works by the abstract-Surrealist Boumeester.
Particularly noteworthy for the text contributions by Noel Arnaud, Gaston Bachelard, Max Clarac-Serou, Francis Picabia and Iaroslav Serpan. One of only 200 numbered examples from a total issue of 225. Boumeester (with her husband Henri Goetz) participated in the exhibitions of the short-lived post-WWII para-Surrealist ‘Vrille’ group, together with Jean Atlan, Victor Brauner, Picabia, Raoul Ubac, Gerard Vulliamy, and others. Evrard de Rouvre coordinated the group. A very good+ example of this elusive documentation.<br />
