DALEKO OD STROMU. 1984. SIGNED BY AUTHOR

£145.00

N.p. (Prague?): n.p., 1984
20.5 x 14.2cm, 268pp. Carbon copied pages with plain pink card covers and stapled and tape bound.  First edition of this novel created by an author who publicly had stated that she had no interest in politics but still remained banned by the Stalinist puppet regime. In some ways such a distain for politics was common amongst Czech authors – a general alienation caused by disgust at the way the totalitarian state operated. Some marks to wrappers and minor wear otherwise VG although the carbon copy is a little blurred due to being perhaps one of the last copies in the pile which were typed simultaneously in a Samizdat tradition where copies of such books were hand made and distributed only to close friends and trusted allies. This book is signed on the first page by the author. Rare.
