London: s.p., 1968
6.4 x 6.4 x 0.8cm perspex box in three parts etched with the words in red, black and white “DANGER BOX” and “OPEN AT YOUR OWN RISK/YOKO ONO 1968” and verso in white on black perspex with a central circular window with two sliding perspex sides: “BUILD AROUND IT/JOHN LENNON 1968”.
The first public collaboration between the then Beatle and Ono – from an exhibition which was quickly assembled after the relative failure of Ono’s Water Show which had closed just before. This box was displayed as one of two “for sale” objects in “Four Thoughts” held in the Arts Lab from June 2nd – 9th 1968. The limitation of this item is not known by us although apparently at least two were made (since we have held one other example before). Scarce. Fine condition.
