DANIEL SPOERRI’S ROOM NO 631 AT THE CHELSEA HOTEL. 1965.

55 x 26.5cm, folded to 28 x 13cm, Exhibition poster and mailer for Spoerri’s in situ work in the famous New York hotel. The poster reproduces 42 small b/w photographs taken by Fluxus artist Peter Moore of Spoerri and various ‘tableau-peages’ which were displayed in the room. There is on the back of the poster a short original text by Kaprow suggesting that Spoerri’s installation may bring the end of the museum exhibition as a means of showing art (it is doubtful if even Kaprow believed that would happen but here it is). One brown spot on the back of the poster and some creases to the paper which has been mailed and franked otherwise very good. Scarce.
