N.p.: s.p. (Johnson), 1969
21 x 30cm, b/w vintage xerox with a b/w reproduction of a Johnson drawing of 26 spent matches and the text “March 16, 1969/DEAR GEORGE ASHLEY” (the matches being a joke on ASH – LEY) and an arrow pointing out the last match as “26TH MARRAKECH MATCH”. On the reverse there is a hand-written note: “Richard Thanks for your nice telegram. I tried to telephone you in Deer Park – number was disconnected. Call me x Ray” and is dated March 26 (1969).
A reused hand addressed envelope with return address rubber stamping mailed to Richard Misiano-Genovese. Neatly opened on top.
A very early Johnson correspondence work with good provenance.
