FIETSENPLAAN (WHITE BICYCLE PLAN) PROVOCATIVE NO 5. 1965. FIRST MENTION OF THE WHITE BICYCLE.

£75.00

Amsterdam: Provo, July 13 1965
31.4 x 33.9 cm. Mimeograph. Street leaflet/poster which outlines Provo’s white bicycle plan with a ext by Roel van Duyn (and possibly Luud Schimmelpenninck) which was sometimes included in Provo 2 but here printed for public action. The Provo’s White Bicycle Plan was intended to solve the traffic problems of the (even then) crowded capital in an environmentally friendly way – by supplying bikes all over the city that could just be taken and used temporarily and then left for the next user without charge. Sadly many people stole the bikes and repainted them. Former fold marks but overall very good plus. Rare item.
