Beuys, Joseph
Dusseldorf: Stadt-Sparkasse, 1972
25 x 17.2cm, 64pp plus card covers. Beuys’ interest in the female form meant he drew over 200 graphite works depicting women (often mothers) during the period 1947 – 1961: this travelling exhibition documents that aspect of this work and reproduces nearly 50 of them b/w full page and lists the rest. Essay by Hans van der Grinten. Very good although former owner’s name on inside cover and one underlining on halftitle under the date.
