£275.00

London: The Institute of Contemporary Arts, 1968

Exhibition catalogue(s) and facsimile documents relating to the influential dada/proto-surrealist poet. 22 x 32cm, printed card folder content of three 30 x 21cm, booklets – respectively 28pp, 8pp and 12pp plus beige card wraps with screen printed covers.

The booklets are ‘GUILLAUME APOLLINAIRE 1880-1918 A CELEBRATION 1968′, ”COME BACK GUILLAUME, ALL IS FORGIVEN’ – ANNIE’ and ‘APOLLINAIRE PAR DELA LA MANCHE ET L’ATLANTIQUE’.

Additional to the catalogues are a number of additional ‘slip-in’ documents – nine in all –  reproduced photographs, reprinted early calligrams and a postcard to Apolliniare by Picasso and, a quite scarce item in itself sometime found alone, a 45rpm vinyl disc of Apollinaire reading Le Pont Mirabeau.

Additional to the slip-ins is a facsimile of Valentine Penrose’s horoscope of Apollinaire and a list of films commissioned for the exhibition. Near fine with the original adhesive label seal cleanly cut to allow the folder to be opened. Now very scarce especially complete as here.
