HOLLYWOOD EDITION ART’S BIRTHDAY. 1974.

£395.00

42 x 29cm, 8pp. Tabloid newspaper issued by General Idea on 2 February 1974 – announced as the 1,000,011 anniversary of the birth of art (after Robert Filliou’s announcement of  the date). As with many of General Idea’s actions the publication is mostly a report on a party that took plave in Elks Building in Los Angeles. B/w white photographs of many of the attendees including Granada Gazelle, Noah Dakota, Count Fanzini, Judy D’Or, Bambi Fawn, Mr Peanut, as well as a photograph of Filliou with a huge cake during an event in Aachen. In a section entitled “How would you fare casting Hollywood Stars” images of Jorge Zontal, Chris Burden, Feliz Partz, Willoughby Sharp and others can be found. This is in VG+ condition despite the 50 years since the event although it is folded for distribution. Very scarce publication.
