A special supplement given out free with 90,000 copies of the New York Times as a curatorial initiative from the dynamic collective Group Material (which had but a small central group of members – Julie Ault, Tim Rollins and Mundy McLaughlin – but at different times included up to fourteen different participants including Felix Gonzalez Torres amongst others. Pageworks by Mike Glier, Jenny Holzer, Barbara Kruger, Carrie Mae Weems, FGT, Nancy Spero, Nancy Linn, Hans Haacke, Richard Prince and Louise Lawler were commissioned for this journal (which was originally intended for publication in the New York Daily News but the latter rejected the mock-ups as being too “editorial”for which one can read “political”). Very mildly browned but otherwise very good.
