Remscheid: Edition Vice-Versand, 1968
Hand made box (created by Beuys himself during Documenta as indicated by the use of small nails – later staples were used) with hand drawn lines and hand written text.
One of an unlimited edition (12,000 were supposedly made but this is hard to believe) but this, as we note above, was one of the very first such boxes. The box is not accurately made but put together quickly by Beuys but the handwritten aspects are not faded although the wood is somewhat darkened over time. A very good example of an increasingly hard to find hand made multiple.
