Freiburg: Kunstverein Freiburg, 1975

20 x 20.9cm, cardboard box containing a black on white letterpress with a reproduced image by Beuys of links of in a chain with crosses at each end – such as might be imagined on a positive magnet. The work was originally in a catalogue for a Beuys exhibition at the Kunstverein Freiburg in May 1975 and Beuys removed them from the booklets and placed each print in a custom black wooden box. The original work was a 1959 linoleum cut from Franz Joseph Van der Grinten based on a Beuys work for Buderiher Ehrenmal.
