LA CÉDILLE QUI SOURIT. 1969 ONE OF 440 NUMBERED COPIES.

£650.00

Mönchengladbach, Städtisches Museum Mönchengladbach, 1969.

16.5 x 20.6 x  2cm (approx) two part cardboard box (with sliding tray and printed label) content of  a smaller matchbox resembling the larger outer box and a number of 20 x 16cm, 1pp sheets  with a text by Johannes Cladders, a list of works by Filliou and Brecht from before their collaboration, a list of their works made during their stay in Villefranche and ‘La Cédille qui sourit’ (1965-1968) and some cards headed ‘La Cédille qui sourit’ and invitations to participate in the making of an anthology of jokes by returning postcards.

This example is in VG+ condition with the box corners all untorn and the matchbox containing all four original metal hooks as issued. There is a stain on the front label on the title text.

One of 440 numbered examples. Now very scarce especially in good + condition (all the Monchengladbach boxes tended to break easily as the cardboard was not usually supported internally when placed with other heavy books).
