17 x 21cm, silver gelatine print taken by Hausmann during his residency in Limoges. One of a series of leisure scenes (here number 3 according to a handwritten note verso) taken on a “popular beach near Limoges” – the waterside is dominated by men and women flirting around small boats for hire. Verso is a handwritten description of the place, the date, the title and copyright notice all in Hausmann’s hand along with his address. Some minor staining to the rear and a small rough area where a previous label has been removed as well as an inventory number placed there by Marthe Prevot; Hausmann’s widow – from whom this photograph was indirectly obtained – otherwise very good.
