Paris: Bibliotheque des Curieux, 1909
23 x 14.3cm, 324pp plus original wrappers. First edition thus of this collection of the works by and a significant essay on the “exquisite” Marquis. The extensive 56 page introduction, the foreword essay, bibliography and notes are by Apollinaire and prefigure the surrealists’ later obsession with the literary libertine. There are eight illustrations hors texte.
Some marking and, probably unavoidable, foxing/browning to covers given the age and one spine tear at top left but internally very good. Original price sticker on spine. Scarce.
