PROGETTO GENAZZANO. 1983. EXTREMELY RARE LARGE FLAG DESIGNED BY WEINER ON PLASTIC.

£950.00

Genazzano: np, 1983

30.5 X 94cm, pink, black and green screenprint on transparent plastic vinyl. Two 2.5cm diameter circles cut at left edge for stringing as a flag/banner.

Lawrence Weiner’s contribution to the 1983 group show Progetto Genazzano, an exhibition curated by Rudi Fuchs in an abandoned castle in the town of Genazzano, about an hour outside Rome. The text is in Italian and English and reads “Having Been Laid bare, laid open, lain on”.

Limitation is not known but it seemingly was not many. The banner shows some wrinkling and lines from folding and is not particularly well printed as some colours are to be found with small colour lines in the wrong areas but it is extremely rare.
