Germany: Verleih Cinerama, n.d. (1973/1974)
Two separate cinema publicity cards/small posters for the German release of Warhol’s vampire flick with the action transferred to Italy (more chic than Transylvania) . Each is uniformly 24 x 30cm (landscape or portrait) and shows a different image – one of Jose Dallesandro’s chiselled features in glorious close-up and another of Udo clutching a bidet having drained the blood of yet another virgin. It is interesting to see the change in acceptable plot-lines – to save a virgin from involuntary blood-letting our hero simply forces sex on her – liberation in the 60s becomes reaction 30 years later. Some former pin holes and creases to edges but nonetheless scarce vintage emphemera.
Price is for both cards together as a group.
