RECLINING DRUNK. 1973. ONE OF 200 “SIGNED” EXAMPLES.

£3,950.00

London: Art for All, 1973

25 x 15 x 6cm glass bottle sculpture based on a common table ashtray found in the 70s where a Gordons Dry Gin bottle would be melted into a hollow shape. G&G have appropriated that idea and this sculpture (made during their “through a glass darkly” period) is a metaphor for drunkenness through its mis-shape.

This is one of 200 numbered examples (nr 88) which have been numbered through scratching on the back of the bottle along with the etched title and a G&G blind stamp. The etching of the title has been badly done and the scratch has skidded off to leave a mark. There is also a small 0.6cm chip along the bottom of the back of the bottle which cannot be seen when the bottle is displayed. Else VG. Very scarce multiple.
