RIVER OF FUNDAMENT. 2013.

London: London Coliseum, 2013
21 x 15cm, 28pp plus full colour pictorial wrappers. The playbill (of sorts) for the London Premiere of Barney’s film adaption of Norman Mailer’s book (and the latter’s Wake). Full of images, the Libretto, an essay by Angus Cook and a full cast and crew and “who is who”. I went to this showing which was over 5 hours in total of a wonderful filmic experience. After the first break (approx 2 hours) I would estimate the trendy London audience had halved (including the person who stole my bag of purchased Barney goodies I left under my chair so I could go for a toilet break) and after the final break another 1 hour and 45 minutes later there were probably fewer than a third of the original audience left. At the end we went out blinking from the foyer lights into the London dark like some Eliot character only we were full of self-congratulation. They should have given participation certificates. Well worth it – I pity your impatient asses you early leavers. Anyhow – this is in VG+ condition and the only copy online available.
