37 x 55 x 10cm, unique stone sculpture with an image of the sails of a boat. The registration number – KY 27 – is below. There are patches of colour representing actual patches to the sail. A visual and concrete work by Finlay which references his other similar works which use the same symbolism but make it more clear that the patches are regarded as equivalent to those on paintings of Harlequins by Pablo Picasso. Patches are a mark of hard work, dedication and longevity – which is true of both troupedores and working boats. Full provenance available.
JOINT WITH
Custom made wooden white plinth with two iron rods which allow the sculpture to sit safely on the base.
