Nine separate issues, uniformly 20 x 26cm. 32pp. per. Black on white reproductions of works throughout many full page (drawings, paintings, photomontage, cartoons, film posters et. al.) by contributing artists per number. Each in original glued wrappers with attached yapped pictorial dustwrapper, with a design by a contributing artist. A rare complete run of this collectively edited polemically oriented vanguard Danish journal.
Each issue is composed of a thematic or monographic survey of works by an individual artist or artists. As follows:
1. AKSEL JORGENSON. Text by Harald Rue. Illustrated with wood and linoleum cut designs by the artist. Dustwrapper with a pictorial design by Jorgenson. Some minor foxing, else a vg example.
2. ANTON HANSEN. Text by Erna Watson & Broby Johansen. Composed of introductory text followed by a series of drawings by the artist, representing utopian social production. Some minor foxing, else a very good example in dustwrapper with a designed by the artist.
3. KATHE KOLLWITZ. Text by Erna Watson & Torba Gregersen. Composed of introductory text followed by a series of characteristic works by the artist. A close to fine example in dustwrapper with a design by Kollwitz.
4. DRAWINGS FROM THE U.S.A. Uncredited text. Composed of text followed by reproductions of works by William Gropper, Adolf Dehn, Louis Lozowick, and others. A very good example in dustwrapper with a design after a woodcut by Hugo Gellert.
5. ROBERT STORM PETERSEN. Uncredited text, Composed of introduction followed by reproductions of polemic cartoons and paintings by Petersen. One internal closed tear, else a very good example in dustwrapper with a designby the artist.
6. TEGNEKUNSTEN I SOVJETUNIONEN. Uncredited text. Composed of introduction followed by reproductions (some in color) of revolutionary and Constructivist Russian graphic art (1905-30), including designs for agit-prop film and political posters. One internal closed tear, else a very good example in dustwrapper with an uncredited design in red and black.
7. ANTON HANSEN. (second collection). Text by Tom Kristensen. Composed of an introduction followed by a series of polemic cartoons by the artist. Some wear to wrappers, else a good+ example in pictorial dustwrapper with some paper loss.
8. FOTO-MONTAGE. Text by Gurli Ketner & Torba Gregersen. Composed of introduction followed by full-page reproductions (some in black and red) of striking photomontages by J. Heartfield, V. Klutsis, El Lissitsky, L. Moholy-Nagy, H. Richter, A. Rodchenko, A. Urban, et. al. A very good+ example in dustwrapper with a photomontage design (recto and verso), by Heartfield.
9. GEORGE GROSZ. Text by Edvard Heiberg. Composed of text followed by a series of full-page and characteristic narrative drawings by Grosz. The wrappers have sadly come away from the text block but that could easily be repaired.
