THE KEY TO ART. 1967.

NYC: Fluxus, 1967

41.7 x 19.7cm, 2pp – small poster and flyer for a presentation by  Robert Filliou and Scott Hyde in the windows of Tiffany’s, New York from March 27–April 12, 1967.

The images were photographs of 22 “American and foreign artist’s hands allowing them to be “read” by palmists. This was suggested by Filliou as “the key to art (?)”.

The artists included Arman, Ayo, Mark Brusse, Pol Bury, John Cage, Christo, Hansen, Higgins, Red Grooms, Alain Jacquet, Robert Breer, Ray Johnson, Alison Knowles, Lichtenstein, Mac Low, Marisol, Oldenburg, Patterson, Takis, Warhol, Robert Watts, and Emmett Williams.

The images were later collated into an edition “Handbox” and another work “Clock”. VG+. Scare.
