THREE LETTERS – TWO SIGNED TYPESCRIPT AND ONE HAND DRAWN THROUGHOUT WITH FLUXUS MAILING LISTS. 1989.

Four related documents – all 30 x 21cm, xerox, laser printed or drawn recto by the Fluxus artist Ken Friedman sent to Mats B. (the Fluxus artist and writer) relating to Fluxus projects and in particular the need for an update “Fluxlist” of artists.

ATLS
No date but most probably c. February 1989. 2pp. Laser print signed in blue ink. Written to Mats B. Proposing that he bring together the work of Hanna Higgins (daughter of Alison Knowles and Dick Higgins), James Lewes and Giorgio Zanchetti all of whom were working on histories of the Fluxus grouping independently of each other. Appends addresses of the three scholars. Fine.

DEAR MATS….
A hand drawn letter in an ornate style with different typographic letting throughout. Black sharpie on transparent paper. Dated 4.3.89. The text reads: “Dear Mats. We’re putting a little Fluxlist together. It’s been years since the last one. I’ll appreciate you help in anyone you see is missing. Especially anyone in Sverige I am missing (arrow) Anke Hodel, Carl Friedrich Reutserward, Sten Hansen, Eric Deetman Anyone else? Complete copies to all who help. Thanks Ken.

Something of an artwork in itself this letter is rather attractive.

FLUXUS MAILING LISTS
Oslo: Friedman, 1989
3pp (recto only) offset b/w. A short text by Friedman introduces 64 mailing addresses of Fluxus artists including Marcel Alocco, Eric Andersen, Jon Armleder, Ay-o, George Brecht, John Cage, Giuseppie Chiari and so on. Hardly any significant living Fluxus artist is missed out (apart from Yoko Ono).

ATLS
January 1993. 1pp. Laser print signed in black ink. A short missive written to Mats B. saying that Friedman had received a copy of Mat B’s Fluxus catalogue from Being taf Klintbergand remarking “it was terrific”. One tear left and some browning down that side.

All in VG condition although all are folded twice for mailing.
