TWO AUTOGRAPHED LETTERS BOTH SIGNED BY PIERRE SEGHERS. c. 1940S.

£95.00

Two separate missives from the publisher, resistance hero and poet: the first (to an unknown person) on Poesie 42 letterheaded stationery is four pages of 21 x 12.5cm off-white paper which is in part a charming travelogue about the writer’s trip to Albi and elsewhere notes on his work and poetry.

The second (27 x 21cm, 2pp) is to an anonymous female and more carefully written is an another charming note arranging a meeting and mentioning his travels and experiences. Together they hint at the charm of the man who published some of the most important avant garde books during and just after the second world war. The second letter has a coffee stain and has been folded twice with a small tear along one of the foldlines – the second has been folded once. The date of both is not clear but probably mid 1940s given the letterhead.

PRICE IS FOR BOTH LETTERS AS A PAIR.
