A 2.5 x 3 x 3cm (approx) wood and rubber stamp consisting of a reproduced image of the artist’s left thumbprint. One of 65 signed and numbered (on a certificate) examples from the important British conceptual artist Monk. Referencing Manzoni (who often stamped works with his thumbprint), and, perhaps indirectly, Warhol with the idea of the unique re-made as a multiple was never before more apposite as here. In 2003 we published the other half of this two-part artwork ONE OF TWO (with the stamp being of the right thumb print) of which we have a few copies left. Fine condition.
