Torino: s.p., 1976
9cm x 9cm, 108pp. Unprinted yellow card covers with embossed indents to allow the shape of a square to be drawn. Artist’s book content of the descriptions of 100 putative exhibitions considered by Pistoletto from 1970 to 1976.
Limitation not known but a rare book made unique by the application of a minimal drawing in heavy black felt-tipped pen by Pistoletto of a 3-D cube on the unprinted front cover (thus supplying this copy of the book with a physical aspect to his conceptual title) and signed and dated on the first front endpaper with the place of signing (Wein) also noted. The choice of the word ‘cube’ in the non-title and the drawing reflects the shape of the galleries in which the 100 exhibitions could take place. A gift from the artist to the previous owner the drawing was made in 1997 when the book was also signed. Unique within a series of similar books.
