VIDEOAUSSTELLUNG GILBERT AND GEORGE. 1972.

£175.00

Düsseldorf: Gerry Schum, 19 Sept. 1972
12.5 x 15.5cm, 2pp. On the front is an adapted stylised gin label within a TV screen image that reads “Gilbert George By Appointment to her Majesty the Queen Gin Distillers” – a parody of Gordons Gin’s label design. On the reverse noted are the three video works created by the artists: “In the Bush”, “Gordon’s Makes Us Drunk”, “Portrait of the artists as young men”. One of a series of such card released by Schum who specialised in video and TV art, the outline of the design in black suggests the edges of a tv screen. This is a hand addressed, stamped and posted copy with a small paper scuff top left on the reverse which partly obscured Schum’s address and a slightly torn postage stamp. Scarce.
