WHY I GOT INTO ART: VASELINE MUSES. 1991. ARTIST’S FIRST BOOK.

£225.00

Koln: Jablonka Galerie / Verlag der Buchhanlung Valther Koning, 1991
21 x 14 cm, unpaginated. Original wrappers. The book includes 22pp of plates depicting grainy images of well known female artists such as Yoko Ono, Hannah Wilke, Lynda Benglis, Carolee Schneeman, Cheri Gaulke, Valie Export and Veruschka manipulated to seem as if they are soft-core porn – hence Kelley’s motivation to become an artist to meet such sexy conceptualists (in Carolee’s case we concur). Published as two separate books, dos-a-dos & upside down from each other, in one volume. Text in English and German. Fine, one of 1,000 copies but quite scarce.
