WOLS. 1950. ARTIST’S FIRST EVER AMERICAN EXHIBITION.

£75.00

NYC: Hugo Gallery, n.d. (1950)
22 x 14.5cm, 16pp plus paper wrappers. Exhibition catalogue with a lengthy text by Rene Guilly and one work reproduced in b/w on the front of the book. This was the artist’s first ever American show (as noted on the back cover) bringing his Tachiste style to New York. There is a note in ink under the front cover painting noting the size of the work and suggesting it was 80 francs in price (perhaps inaccurately) and a slight paper scuff on the back cover from some past gluing but this is hardly noticeable else VG. A very scarce item.
