38 x 28cm, 32pp plus 8pp smaller insert. Artist's journal in the form of a tabloid newspaper which here has an 8pp contribution by Finlay documenting the first of the Little Sparta Wars. Various letters and statements from participants in the war from both sides are joined with 6 photographs by Dave Paterson. The paper is fragile due to being very cheap and is unavoidable browned. Folded for storage. Very scarce.

15 x 10.5cm, 2pp. Black on white card with a photograph by Dave Paterson of a toy military airplane made by Finlay which has been attached to a cross bar with string to create a marionette. The plane is painted in British camouflage and decals. The wings both are in two parts and one has been allowed to drop as if the plane has been damaged in a dogfight. This is a companion card to the previous one (Marionette 1) and presumably shows the after effect of encounter with an enemy. VG+.

An A-Z of pictures of Finlay's model boats, airplanes, weapons and kites by Paterson along with an alphabet - B is "Battle fleets are like families" shows a number of warships placed in size order like a bad family portrait. Not all of the texts are poetic - some simply describe the toys.
One of 1,000 copies printed this example is VG+.

14.7 x 10.5cm, printed outer folder in orange with nine 14.5 x 10cm, 1pp postcards inside. Each card has a photograph by Dave Paterson of Finlay's toy boats in water, reeds and other outdoor situations. Below each photograph is a poem by Finlay in a rhyming scheme which tell the tales of the adventures of the boats and their owner as well as copious remarks on their structures including the ubiquitous handkerchief sails. Is this an artist's book or a collection of artist's postcard - debatable but we have kept it with the books because of the linked stories. VG+.

The homage of Jean Gris the cubist brings to mind his painting of a Pierrot where alternative sides of the actor's clothing are different colours (presumably in part by patching - a symbolism of love for Finlay).
