0.8 x 14cm, unpaginated (c. 48pp). Original card covers. Artist's book listing in alphabetical order all of the works purchased by the Musee national d'Art moderne between 1977 and 1998. Boltanski had curated the exhibition "INVENTAIRE DU CABINET D'ART GRAPHIQUE" at the same museum and this book was released in an edition of 1,500 at that time. VG+.

11,5 x 17 x 3cm, two-part cardboard box with mounted title-sticker on lid content of a a folded text sheet with a colour drawing of the exhibition site and a text in English. Additionally there are 39, 10.5 x 15cm, 2pp colour post-cards. This was the exhibition catalogue for the exhibition shared between Boltanski, Ilya Kabakov and Jean Kalman. Each card shows an installation view of the works which were sited in a former sanatorium near Berlin. The text by Kabakov explains the background to the project. VG+.

21.7 x 15.6cm, 34pp plus wrappers. First edition of this artist's book with 32 b/w images of the artist again reproducing scenes from his childhood - mostly of his memories of playing games. The photographs were all taken by Annette Messager in 1972 but the legends below each image (In French, English and German) clearly states they are contemporary to the artist's childhood. One of 1.500 copies of a second edition printing of the book tweinty-six years after the original. This second edition is printed in a larger paper size than the first edition. VG+.

Artist's book consisting of 132 small b/w photographic images of relics from both East and West youth culture in Berlin in the 1970s (before the Berlin wall came down) The images are of toys, exercise books, sports drawings, fan articles, drawings, photos." The book is printed dos-a-dos with the Eastern objects shown in one direction until half way, and the Western images in the other direction once the book is turned over. Minimal text in German. VG+.

26.5 x 20.5cm, 1168pp plus boards. First edition of this huge artist's book which reproduced 1148 black and white photographs all without detail taken from Botlanski's personal collection of found images. All are figurative - people in all of their different forms - and the title Kaddish is a Jewish call for praise of god - and sometimes part of mourning rituals.
There are four sections - Menschlich, Sachlich, Ortlich, Sterblich.
Boltanski has adopted an interest in his father's religion and while not practising he clearly identifies with some of the religion's compassion.

24 x 18cm, unpaginated plus printed boards - all bound in a thick metal spiral. A joint artists' book in which Jacques Roubaud takes three of Boltanski's "list" books (The work people of Halifax, Liste des Suisses morts dans le Canton du Valais en 1991 and Liste des artistes ayant participe a la Biennale de Venice 1895 - 1995) and utlising different arbitrary rules re-orders the names into 99 different lists.
This is followed by a number of unidentified portraits of people printed on semi-transparent paper which are split into three sections allowing parts of the faves to be rearranged to create "new" portraits. In some manner this latter re-organisation of the facial features reflects Roubaud's re-categorisation.
The cover displays the two artists but with their portraits cut up and recombined to create a new image. VG+. ...

One part printed folder (black on blue) content of a 30 x 21cm, 92pp colour magazine. Artist’s book which was created annually by the newspaper for its Sunday supplement here dedicated to Christian Boltanski. Long essay text in German and many colour reproductions of works. The cover of the magazine has a tipped on card label printed with the text "Verloren in Munchen". VG+ in like folder and there is an ex libris "From the Library of Anthony d'Offey" on the inside of the folder. Not in any catalogue raisonne.

Grand-Hornu: Grand-Hornu Images, 1997
19.5 x 12.7cm, 16pp (single folded sheet that opens up to 25.4 x 78cm. Artist's book that was circulated during the exhibition which reproduces the portrait page of children's passport documents (Dutch and French) these appear to be wartime documents.
Still extant is the publisher's wrap around bandeau which reproduced details of the exhibition on it although a mistake in the printing has meant that a hand addition to the times has been made. VG+. Very scarce.

42 x 30cm, 16pp (self cover). Artist designed newspaper with many images of eyes in closeup. Each image seems haunting or even accusing.
Unopened in original outer wrapper Newspaper in near mint (folded) condition and bandeau with slight paper loss on unprinted right hand side. Now scarce.
