Here we offer an extensive and significant collection of over 360 announcement cards, invite cards, publicity cards, announcement leaflets and other postcards by Joseph Beuys.
The collection currently consists of 324 cards and documents from July 1964 to artist’s unexpected death in January 1986 and a number of additional posthumous cards. The vast majority of these cards are directly related to solo exhibitions – of which Beuys had around 180 during his life time – hence this is a large proportion of all the Beuys invitation cards issued.

10.5 x 15cm, 2pp adhesive sticker printed green on white with the demand in German: "CITY FOREST INSTEAD OF CITY ADMINISTRATION" - an economic demand to make the state more environmentally aware. This sticker is printed on the back strip with the FIU's details - the backing has not been removed. On the front Beuys has signed the sticker very boldly in black felt tipped pen. VG+.
DIFESA DELLA NATURA. 1982.
Fabriano, Galleria La Virgola, 1982 21 x 15cm., 2pp announcement card for an exhibition of works, multiples and graphics under the heading of the Difesa della natura" (defence of nature) which Beuys regularly used as a slogan to cover his work in Italy where he increasingly tried to stress the need for a less industrial form of farming and production. Front of the card has a portrait of Beuys in b/w by Buby Durini taken from behind while Beuys is in long fur coat and hat looking at the landscape. VG+.
