£225.00

Düsseldorf: A 37 90 89, 1969
30 x 21cm, 1pp mimeographed leaflet announcing this Arbeitsabend (working night) at A 37 90 89, the groundbreaking alternative arts space which began during the moon landing, and lasted only six months, but radically influenced the critique of museums and other institutions of the art world. It was where Broodthaers initiated his Musée d’Art Moderne, Département des Aigles. This working evening was to interrogate the functions of art schools, art pedagogy and artists’ labour, and included a remarkable assemblage of artists, including Joseph Beuys, Johannes Cladders, Carl Andre, Eugenia Butler, Anny de Decker, Bernd Lohaus, Werner de Bondt, Daniel Buren, Niele Toroni, Franz Dahlem, Karl Ruhrberg, Seth Siegelaub, Enno Develing, José Castillejo, Stanley Brouwn, Harald Szeemann, Mia Visser, Erika Fischer, Blinky Palermo, Marcel Broodthaers, Kasper König, Ilka Schellenberg, Dorothee Fischer, Konrad Fischer, and others. Near fine with the usual toning and three small closed tears to upper margin.
