11 x 6.5 x 2cm original black stone with the text “in the hands of the proletariat” etched onto it. One of a number of similar works created by Jack relating to her Scottish grand aunt, prominent Scottish activist and suffragette Helen Crawfurd (née Jack). The stones were given away to antendees of the artist’s exhibition Our Red Aunt in the Glasgow Women’s Library as part of the Glasgow International visual art festival. Fine – if you accept the stone is au natural.
