POISONED GARDEN GNOME. 2008. ONE OF 250 EXAMPLES IN BLACK.

£295.00

Wertheim: s.p. (Horl), 2008
41 x 17 x 19cm, extruded black plastic sculpture of a nazi-saluting gnome which caused an international news sensation when placed in an installation in the city of Straubing (near Berlin) entitled “Dance with the Devil” and consisting of 700 such works. Previously misunderstood by idiots on the city council when exhibited in a gallery it faced calls for its removal under Germany’s laws against representation of pro-Nazi images although once the anti-fascist meaning of the work was explained those calls were recalled. The word “poison” is found on the base of the sculpture.
This is one of only 250 examples in black. This is long out of print. Fine condition.
