25.5 x 19cm, b/w vintage press photograph printed in 1972. The image is of the former Associate Professor of English at Stanford University addressing a public anti-war rally in San Francisco’s Union Square. Franklin had been dismissed by the University after his “alleged role in the occupation of a computer center and a confrontation between anti-war demonstrators and police nearly a year ago.” This wire photograph has a date stamp on the back: “Jan 24 1972”. VG+ condition. Provenance: part of a group of press photographs decommission from the Seattle Times Library.
