THE STRIPTEASER. 1953. A “SAMPLER” PUBLICATION FROM THE OLYMPIA PRESS.

£95.00

Paris: The Olympia Press, 1953

20 x 13.5cm, unpaginated (64pp) plus pictorial wraps. This promotional magazine reprints excerpts from five different books from the press – including Georges Bataille’s “Tale of Satisfied Desire” (under the pseudonym of ‘Pierre Angelique’) – which is better known as “The Story of the Eye” – as well as parts of Henry Miller’s Plexus and John Cleland’s Fanny Hill and two works by De Sade. All are translations into English. An example of erotica from the period this also has 57 b/w images of naked models winking at the camera, conveniently bending over, putting on stockings, cleaning the kitchen without clothes, etc, etc. Slight wear to the front edge but otherwise a very good copy of this scarce sampler from the fearless press.
