UNTITLED BROADSIDE (BURGER VON BUDINGEN)

£85.00

Frankfurt: Semantik, 1966
42.5 x 30cm, 2pp broadside – poster/manifesto of sorts published to proclaim a retrospective of the work of Gerd Winkler who had made the Zero film ‘0 – 0 = art’ first shown in 1962 and had later contributed to the journal of the Dutch Nul Group (Nul = 0) which was affiliated to Zero. This broadside has images of two public performances by Winkler including a Happening event in Frankfurt with William B. Simmat where small paintings and drawings on paper were thrown to a small crowd down below the open windows of a tavern. On the reverse are several press cuttings and images of the artist making a ‘pyro’ painting by setting fire to gunpowder pressed onto a board or canvas. Fine. Very scarce Zero related material.
