19cm dia. (approx) x 13cm, mixed media – found metal and plastic children’s toy, paint. An unique work by the Fluxus artist which was created as part of his installation in the window of the Gallery One where he slept for the duration of the show – the appropriated children’s toy has been handpainted by Ben in black (around the body) and the bulbous windscreen has been painted white and Ben’s name painted on the top.
The Festival of Misfits was the earliest of Fluxus events in Britain and works from that exhibition are extremely hard to find. This work was purchased indirectly from the Gallery along with other material.
Fine condition although there is a dent in the body of the toy which may or may not have pre-existed but the paint is unaffected.
