21 x 15cm, 2pp art postcard with on the front a photographic image by Peter Saville and Tony Wilson which is printed in lilac light-sensitive ink – the image is invisible under normal conditions but “develops” when the card is exposed to strong light displaying a road sign with a cross and the word “Opera” – a reference to both the site of the Il Tempo del Postino group show this was issued for (The Manchester Opera House) and the Italian for work. The cross also referenced the logo of the event. Saville and Wilson were, of course, at the heart of Manchester’s Factory Records and this joint edition (limitation unknown) would have been one of the last things the duo co-operated on before Wilson’s sadly untimely death. It appears this commission was for once delivered on time by Saville (a Madchester joke – see 24 Hour Party people if you don’t get it). In black envelope as issued – both edition and promotional announcement card for the event. Both fine.
