PACKING
We try to keep costs down and we are also aware of the effects of packing on the environment.

Where possible we try to recycle packaging materials. If you require new pristine packing boxes/envelopes (say for a gift) then please let us know.

Large posters are usually rolled and sent in firm tubes - if you require flat packing for any large item then please let us know on ordering:in such cases, there may be a surcharge to cover the extra costs.

Other items are send in appropriate packaging.

INSURANCE
We will cover all shipments with full loss insurance up to £250. Thereafter a surcharge is needed.

We will consider sending items without full insurance but this is at the purchaser’s decision and risk. If you wish us to do this then please indicate in writing what you want us to do.

Unoriginal Sins is an established venture trading in the field of the contemporary and modern avant garde movements from 1900 to the present day. We have a vast inventory of books, documents, artworks, ephemera, object multiples, LPs and other digital media as well as representing major collections from significant artists.

We trade almost entirely online - we purchase new material all the time and offer regular clients email lists (which you can sign up to here) of new arrivals. Soon after the distribution of those lists, new items are placed online so it is worth returning regularly to this site to see what new things are for sale.

It may be possible to visit in person and see our inventory but that is by appointment only - please email us. We can supply references for new clients should that be required.

We are always looking for new material to add to our stocks - we have a desiderata here but we are interested in all material that is similar to our core interests. Do get in touch.

London: ICA, 1992 62 x 50cm, full colour offset print with an image of one sculptural work "LA REVOLUTION EST UN BLOC". A limited edition print released during the ICA exhibition - apparently in a very small number (according to Pia Smilig only 30 copies were released). This print differs from the poster released in that Finlay's name is not printed in large letters top right and the white unprinted strip is not found along the bottom (making the print smaller). Additionally the paper is a little thicker than the poster. One small mark top right else VG+. ...

NYC: Ronald Feldman Fine Arts, 1986
10.5 x 15cm 2pp. Announcement card for a posthumous show which took place only 9 months after the artist's sudden death. Image on the front of a Beuys action (probably The Hearth from 1975 which took place in the same gallery). A mailed copy with typed address verso else VG+.

...

London: Editions Schellmann & Kluser, 1984
21 x 15cm, 4pp announcement card with two works reproduced internally (Dead Stags from 1982 and Bath-Tub for a Heroine, 1984) internally, exhibition and gallery details on the front and back covers. VG+.

...

Roma: Galleria Santoro, 1980
15 x 10.5cm, 2pp. Announcement card with a design of a FIU print on the front KUNST = KAPITAL. A mailed example with written address - but VG+.

...

Berlin: Edition Hundertmark, n.d. (1977)
10.3 x 15cm, 2pp. Artist designed card issued by Hundertmark with printed rubber stamp impressions by Beuys (Fluxus Zone East) and Ken Friedman (Fluxus Zone West). Beuys has written a hand signed dedication in red ink over the front of the card to (what we think is) Klaus-Gunther Schulz. The blue colour of the printing of the Fluxus Zone stamp impression is much lighter than other examples of this card we have seen - suggesting this was an additional printing of the work. VG+.

...

Berlin: Edition Hundertmark, n.d. (1977)
9 x 14cm, 2pp. Artist designed card issued by Hundertmark to be part of the Morris and Trasov organised Image Bank Postcard Show (1971) but later issued in a box set as an edition. Displays printed rubber stamp impressions by Beuys (Fluxus Zone East) and Ken Friedman (Fluxus Zone West). VG+.

Edinburgh: Ronald Gunn, n.d. (1969) 38 x 30.5cm, b/w silver gelatine photographic print displaying a Ian Hamilton Finlay sculpture installed in Pittencrieff Park, Dunfermline, in 1969. The photograph shows a different version of the KY sculpture where the KY stands for a boat (being the code for Kirkcaldy) and the number 365, the days in the year. Additionally nearby tree trunks symbolise the masts of boats - the landscape being therefore compared with a seascape. This is one of a number of editioned photographs Finlay issued with Gunn. The back of the print has the photographer's copyright stamp. Some soft creases to the large sheet and one small diagonal crease bottom right (not affecting image) else VG. Scarce. ...
