Paris: s.p., 1962
27 x 21cm. Self cover. Aubertin’s manifesto explaining his theories of colour and spiritual art in six separate short texts. Aubertin came to similar considerations to Yves Klein at about a similar period in art history and this document considers aspects of the artist’s practice – including a section on the role of the monochrome as work and another on the role of creating works at a distance from the artist by instructing another to do the work. Another section explains Aubertin’s fascination with fire and states his interest in “pyromanique” works. This copy is signed and titled in pencil by the artist on page three – with the additional note: “(la conventure est epuisse)”. Fine.
