Milano: Galleria S. Fedele, 1957
30.8 x 22cm, 8pp plus original wrappers. Exhibition catalogue for this Italian exhibition of works by the Arte Nucleare movement which, at the time of publication, was at the height of its influence. There are 12 b/w illustrations of paintings from the group and amidst the others and a solitary 2-colour (blue and black) reproduction of one of Klein’s paintings. Manzoni’s post-surrealist “hominid” painting is another interesting work as is Jorn’s pre-&”Movement for an Imaginist Bauhaus” painting which has all the hallmarks of his mature style.
There is an essay by the curator Giorgio Kaisserlain who welcomes Manzoni as the youngest and newest adherent to the arte nucleare group and elsewhere a reprinting of Baj’s original manifesto of 1952 (within a translated article by Jageur). Near fine. Very scarce.
