London: London Arts Board, 1993
8 x 30cm, 2pp. announcement card for the artist’s breakthrough show where she showed her photographs of members of the public holding signs stating their internal states of emotion. One of the best known of those photographs was a besuited man holding a sign saying “I’m desperate”. This card has the words “I’M DESPERATE” in green felt-tipped pen written on them by wearing although the card also seemingly has a mistaken attempt to write the same words but the letters read “I’M DESPHF” in purple felt tipped pen also by Wearing. It is hard to work out why this is. The card has been mailed and is creased vertically due to the postal service but this was Wearings most important exhibition. VG apart from the crease.
