One of a number of body transfer works where the artist used his finger to trace words on his naked female partner’s back – the words used by Oppenheim were very emotive most being taboo swear words. Kirsten (Oppenheim’s partner) was then to announce which word was "written" on her. Oppenheim’s experiments in the transmission of information by other means than mere verbalising were part of a wider movement by many such conceptual artists (eg Nauman) to investigate basic functions and abilities of the body. This is one of the best known of the
works and the print which was released in a unnumbered but very limited edition of c. 50 – 100 copies is a companion work to the super-8 film that Oppenheim shot of the entire experiment (3:02min long, b/w). Fine condition and very scarce.
