23 x 14cm, 183pp. Cloth covered boars with a dustjacket sporting a reproduction of Hockney’s portrait of Melly. The first edition of this memoir which covers Melly’s days as a sailor, sodomite, surrealophile and songster. As usual with this title the dj is somewhat tatty at the top and browned with age (poor quality paper) but internally this is near fine. This copy of this robust and good humoured literal self-portrait (which is mostly without conceit) has a three line dedication in ink signed by Melly. The actual portrait of Melly on the dustjacket is by David Hockney.
Laid in: A cut-out advert for a book signing session held by Melly.
