Recto is printed Weiner’s conceptiual art credo but interestingly qualified by the artist to indicate it is culture specific, namely: “In relation to probable use within a culture (i.e. western): 1. an artist may construct a work 2. a work may eb fabricated 3. a work need not be built. A reasonable assumption is that each being equal and consistent with the intent of an artist the decision as to condition rests within the needs of the receiver upon the occasion of receivership.”

The exhibition was “3 works of Lawrence Weiner presented for sale &/or information at Leo Castelli NYC”. A mailed copy which has some minor edge damage and on the return a postal address by hand and some colour staining from rubber stamp impressions presumably due to the mailing process.
