Paris: GLM, 1939
16.5 x 11.5cm, 44pp plus original wrappers. First edition of verse texts by the sister of the artist Mario Prassinos. Prassinos embodied the Surrealist ideal / concept of La Femme Enfant, quintessentially. In 1934 (at 14), she presented her very advanced and Surrealist-influenced fictions for publication to Andre Breton (one will recall the famous photo of Prassinos dressed in schoolgirl uniform, as she reads to Breton and Paul Eluard and others). Her first book La Sauterelle Arthritique, replete with a preface by Eluard and photo by Man Ray would be published only in 1937.
This is one of 300 numbered copies (on velin blanc (after 15 on vieux Japon). A fine copy.
