A key figure in the Frankfurt School of Marxism, Benjamin wrote on a wide range of topics – his theories of art criticism after the emergence of mechanical reproductivity being the best known of his works – but he also wrote extensively on the activities of children and gave entertaining lectures on radio for younger people that covered a wide range of philosophical topics in the guise of stories.
